



The Laredo Little Theatre’s Mission Statement is to preserve, develop and promote the arts and culture in Laredo and the surrounding communities. The scope of the theatre’s programming varies in each of the following: theatre arts, dance, and music. The Laredo Little Theatre has captivated audiences for over 100 years with productions ranging from youthful classics to dramatic new-age plays. Every stunning performance has been brought to life by volunteers of every age, race, and background with a love for the stage. The Laredo Little Theatre nurtures participants by enhancing self-esteem, developing language and communication skills, strengthening cultural identity, increasing academic and vocational skill sets, and promoting literacy in both English and Spanish.

Theatro Chicano comes back after a 10 year hiatus to celebrate the upcoming publication of its new book, Perambulations: A Collected Works of Theatro Chicano de Laredo 2009 to 2012, a Routledge publication in London, England. The book will come out this month and is now available on Amazon Prime. A book tour is scheduled for later this month and will commence in Laredo. Texas.
El Novenario de Tia Mine:
Aunt Minerva has passed away and her sister Margarita is left to mourn her passing in the traditional 9 days of mourning. Margarita's daughters Alta and Conchita struggle to understand the traditions of mourning which seem old and outdated. In the rush of preparing for a house full of guests that come to gather at the family's home, an unexpected guest arrives Tia Mine in the flesh.
Nothing to Declare:
Two women of a certain age Regina and Mague are stuck in traffic on international bridge number one for two hours in the summer heat doing what they love to do best...complain. The two women reminisce about the good old days, old flings, complain about the current traffic situation and their sasy manner of dealing with the customs officials.
Breakfast Tacos:
Ramon the son of an old money family has been taken into custody for the murder of the daughter of a well todo family. Detective Marquez has been on the case for a while as this is not Ramon's first offence. It is clear that Detective Marquez thinks that Ramon is also guilty of murdering a girl from the other side of the tracks, whose case has gone cold because the victim did not come from a wealthy family. As the two men discuss the outcome of both cases, Ramon uses this as his opportunity to escape from custody and swim across the border.
